I think I'm going to pay to have a premium flicker account so that I can upload them all there and then I can play around with their api. |

Those Big Life Changes
Posted: 6/26/2006 1:25:29 PM | I gave my "official" written notice today that July 6th will be my last day working for DIA. I also submitted an application for a house for rent about 2 miles away from DATA. That should be close enough to ride my bike to if I feel so inclined. You can see it here at http://214404.rentclicks.com. It's old and not cheap but it's reasonable for a house. The downstairs has a work bench for all my computer nerd stuff. If everything goes as planned I will once again be a proud resident of Denver by next week. Aimee is looking for a small apartment in Ft. Collins. We figured that would work best since she is unsure about the direction of her job and I'm planning on staying in Denver indefinatly now. I'll probably start looking for something to buy when my lease is up at the new place. |

I've finally gotten around to compiling them with VS 2003 and they should work fine now with .Net 1.1. Please excuse the use of @, I don't want to be filtered. I hope to have new content soon. |

I'm having some big issues with my host. When I try to ftp in it has a long delay and when I start transfering files it disconnects. I'm having to result to the control panel that my host provides. It's a pain. Oh well. Another extended weekend would be nice :). |

Posted: 2/18/2006 10:18:30 AM | Yes Ireland is in less then three weeks though some people I know are on their way to Jamaica. We'll be going to Dublin on St. Patty's day so that should be crazy. Our hotel isn't in city center so we'll have to figure out how to get around to the local establishments to partake in the local traditions and pay homage to St Patrick. We are flying into Shannon and staying in Galway for three nights. Then traveling to Dingle for two nights, then Kelkenny for another three nights and then on to Dublin. I've bought a couple travel guides and have an idea of what I want to see but still not sure. It's good to hear suggestions from experienced travelers. I think Cork is on the list of places to see... Hope every one has a good time in Rasta Land. |

Posted: 2/15/2006 9:40:19 AM | Ireland eh? nice... if you're in the Dublin area, try to take a wicklow mountain tour. It's gorgeous. Although, I've heard the areas surrounding Cork are the most beautiful. Just some thoughts. Temple Bar is a huge touristy pub area near the center of Dublin that most people go to, but I found the small dives off the strip to be much more fun. I'm sure you will do proper research on this holiday adventure, if you haven't already. Sorry I missed chillin' with you all on Saturday night, but I had a killer head ache! Mmm... yes, perhaps a little brain-washing would be beneficial to your job search.

Visual Studio 2005 & .NET 2.0

It's not on ASP.NET 2.0. I should set up a web server at my house and link to in from my hosted site and then I could run 2.0 stuff and it would be so much better. Maybe I should just do my page in flash. |

Ubuntu
Posted: 11/16/2005 7:20:59 AM | Last night I took a look at the live eval of the Ubuntu Linux distribution. Ubuntu is designed to be a completely free distribution for everyone (no ulta pro enterprise edition you have to pay for). They will even send you the distribution cd for free and you can order as many as you like. They even pay for shipping. I can't see how this is an effective business model but it's cool they feel that strongly about free software. It’s supposed to have good laptop support so I tried the live eval on my laptop but it didn’t pick up the wifi card. Everything else worked but internet is kind of important. Of course this was just a live eval so it’s asking a lot to have it configure the wifi card properly. It has a nice simple ui built off gnome. There is also Kubunto which uses KDE. It comes with some cool screen savers, which is really the basis for any solid OS. One has 3D simulations of different car engines. It may not be the most energy efficient way to not use your computer but what else are you going to use that graphics card for? I started to download of the full dvd last night and might try it out on my Linux box since it hasn’t seen much use lately. |

I did like w3m though because it had navigation similar to vi, and all systems have vi, so that's why we know it and love it. Especially guacajole, he goes on and on about how he admires vi. |

There is this radio show called e-town and Aimee got tickets to it last night because Bright Eyes was one of the artists playing/being interviewed. I was entertained. In a couple of months you will be able to hear it all on the radio. Well not all of it. They will edit it and probably leave out the mention of "the homeless drowning in e-town creek" (the show was in the Boulder Theater). Conor Oberst, the Bright Eye's guy, said a few things that may have not been so radio friendly. He owns his record label so no Sony, but if you looking for bucketheadesque guitar and don't want to be depressed you should look elsewhere. |
